Dr. Susan Gail Tierney has been in the exclusive practice of orthodontics and has been a member of the American Association of Orthodontists since 1987. Prior to receiving her orthodontic specialty degree from New York University College of Dentistry she practiced General and Family Dentistry. This unique beginning to her orthodontic career enables her to understand and interface with the patient and their family dentist for a comprehensive perspective on the patient’s dentistry, occlusion, cosmetic demands and pre-implant requirements. Dr. Tierney earned her doctor of dental surgery degree (D.D.S.) from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. In 1985 Dr. Tierney began a full time residency program in the Postgraduate Division at New York University College of Dentistry. She completed the program in 1987 and received a Certificate in the Specialty of Orthodontics.
Currently, Dr. Tierney is an attending orthodontist focusing on orthodontics for the Reconstructive and Craniofacial patients at The Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU Medical Center. Her private practice is limited to orthodontics, and she was voted to The Best Dentists in North America in 2005.She also lectures regularly to professional orthodontic organizations and dental hygienists in the greater New York and Mid-Atlantic regions. Dr. Tierney resides with her husband and three children in Garden City, New York.

Dr. Kopcza decided to become an orthodontist at the age of 12 after receiving orthodontic care herself, and noticing the positive effects of her wonderful new smile. She has a passion for creating beautiful smiles, and is dedicated to giving back to the community through the gift of a smile.
Dr. Tina An was raised in Queens, New York. She completed her undergraduate studies at SUNY Binghamton University to earn her bachelor’s degree in science. After which, she attended Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine for her formal dental training. She then chose to specialize in orthodontics and completed her advanced postgraduate orthodontics residency at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. In conjunction with her orthodontics certification, Dr. Tina studied to receive her master’s degree in biomedical sciences and conducted significant research examining radiation dose exposure associated with two- and three-dimensional dental radiographs in imaging impacted canines.
Dr. Tina is a firm believer in the importance of a confident smile and she is passionate about creating beautiful smiles for patients. She is strongly committed to continuing education to keep current on the latest technologies, techniques and research in order to provide the best care and treatment. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.
